SAY IT (OR DO YOU HAVE THE BACKBONE OF A KIT KAT?)
Say it concisely.
Say it from your soul.
I need to hear it plainly, set in stone.
I’m a soluble being, I dissipate and fade.
I like to leave my body for minutes or months or years.
I need solid sentences on which to hang my hopes.
I need real things that make me want to stay.
Time is a cloud,
life is thick fog.
Nothing is real to me unless it’s tethered down with words.
Promises and sweet crumbs turn me into fatal fairy dust.
If I flutter away, you won’t find me within this human body or by phone or email.
I’m pulled back into being by love or by hatred,
there is no in-between.
There are no words that scare me except those that are left unsaid.
I need you to say it in black and white,
don’t whisper it in grey.
Say something real.
Say it before I go.
Say it.
